How can leadership behavior make people ill?

You certainly have heard that body and soul work closely together; something can weigh heavily on the heart; it can be a load on your chest, it can really get you down, you’re fed up, or sick of something. You may know that yourself if something happens that causes stress for your psyche, your body will react, too.

Such interactions are completely normal. Humans are made that way. Leadership behavior, too, can be a trigger for mental reactions and physical consequences. If an employee feels passed over again and again, for example, the following may occur:

Because employees repeatedly feel ignored, there is a high risk that permanent helplessness or anger will spread among them. This naturally causes stress hormones to be released. If, for example, adrenaline or cortisol is released over a longer period of time, this can have a negative impact on susceptibility to infections, the risk of depression, diabetes or the cardiovascular system, among other things.

This means the body can become ill if the psyche is feeling aggrieved.
